About Samson.

A little about Samson, I am a chemist with an entrepreneurial spirit. As a chemist, I am always reading about the newest breakthroughs. I get very excited when I find a new technology to help mankind. I am also entering my forties and have watched my hairline go the way of my father and grandfathers. I was understandably skeptical when I came across an article claiming that scientists had accidentally discovered a new method for treating hair loss. I read the research to evaluate it for myself. I continued researching 2-deoxy-D-ribose (2dDr) and found it is used as a wound dressing to initiate healing, even working on diabetics. 2dDr is also the sugar that makes up our DNA.

Once I had done my investigation into 2dDr, I was very excited to try it. I started by mimicking the formula that was used in the initial study. This formula may have been ok for mice in a lab but would not work for people in the real world. It left a dry flaky residue, which is the problem with the other 2ddr products that have sprung up on the market. I set to work using my years of experience in product development to make a new formula. After multiple iterations, I had a formula that I was proud of. I called Samson’s formula, it does not leave flakes or a greasy residue. I used it for a few weeks and was happy to report that there was no initial shedding period. Also, I noticed a reduction in the amount of hair that I was losing to natural daily shedding. Additionally, I was applying Samson’s formula to my beard, and quickly noticed that I was having to trim an extra time each week! After these initial test I then proceeded to offer it to friends, family, and colleagues.

Professor Sheila MacNeil, Emeritus Professor of Tissue Engineering at the University of Sheffield, said:

“Male pattern baldness is such a common condition, affecting men all over the world, but at the moment there are only two FDA licensed drugs to treat it. Our research suggests that the answer to treating hair loss might be as simple as using a naturally occurring deoxy ribose sugar to boost the blood supply to the hair follicles to encourage hair growth.”

“The research we have done is very much early stage, but the results are promising and warrant further investigation. This could offer another approach to treating this condition which can affect men’s self-image and confidence.”

Professor (Associate) Muhammed Yar (T.I.) of IRCBM, COMSATS University Pakistan, said:

“This pro-angiogenic deoxy ribose sugar is naturally occurring, inexpensive and stable and we have shown it can be delivered from a variety of carrier gels or dressings. This makes it an attractive candidate to explore further for treatment of hair loss in men.”

FAQ:

Q: Is Samson’s formula easy to use? A: Yes it is applied to the scalp from the dropper, located conveniently in the lid.

Q: Will it leave a bunch of flakes like other formulas? A: No, Samson’s formula was made by chemists with years of experience formulating topical products. Our formula uses an aloe gel base which not only absorbs cleanly but also soothes and nutritious the scalp.

Q: How often should I apply Samson’s formula? A: It literally takes seconds to apply. It is recommended that you incorporate this into your morning and evening routines. (I have it sitting next to my toothbrush.)

Q: How much to apply? A: Everyone has a different area to cover but typically half a mL to one mL twice a day is to be expected. Try to only apply to the scalp and avoid getting onto your hair (not that it will hurt it.)

Q: How does the 2dDr get into the skin? A: The formulation scientists at Samson’s Apothecary use the same absorption technology used in the pharmaceutical industry.
